New To Our Church

Whether you've attended church your whole life or never stepped foot in one before, we know it's not easy visiting a church for the first time. Where do I go? Where should I park? How should I dress?  How long does it last? What about my kids?

We want your first experience at Calvary Fellowship International to be relaxed, and for you and your family to enjoy the service.  So, here is some information to help you know what to expect:

WHAT TIME IS THE SERVICE?

Calvary is now temporarily meeing every Saturday at 11:00 a.m., and the service lasts about 90 minutes.  We are in the process of obtaining our own facility to come together and worship in on Sundays.  Same word, just a diffent day.  We encourage you to arrive 5-10 minutes early, especially if you have young children.  This will give you plenty of time to get your children checked into Calvary KidZone and for you to find a good seat in the Executive Ballroom prior to the service starting.

WHERE IS CALVARY LOCATED?

Calvary meets at the Word Centered Church, pastor Steven Bivens is the pastor.  The address is 17625 Central Avenue | Carson, CA | 90746.

WHAT SHOULD I DO WHEN I GET THERE?

When you arrive, our friendly Greeting Team will help direct you to an open spot. If you have children ages birth through 5th grade, then just follow the signs and the bubbles to our Calvary KidZone check-in area to the left of the main theater entrance.

You will receive a worship guide and a pen on during the service.  This program will include message notes, important information, and a connection card, which you will turn in at the end of the service.

And on your way in, if you have questions, just look for one of our courteous volunteers. They're easy to spot and always happy to help!

HOW SHOULD I DRESS?

We care more about you than with what you wear, so the dress is always is up to you.  All we ask is that you cover up those vital parts that should always be covered in public.  At Calvary, you will find people wearing shorts and sandals. You will also find people wearing jeans and tennis shoes.  And you will find people wearing a dress or a suit and tie.  It is entirely up to you.  Dress how you are most comfortable, and you will fit right in - shorts and suits are equally welcomed.

WHAT ARE THE MESSAGES LIKE?

Our goal every Sunday is to teach the timeless truths of the Bible in a way that is engaging and applicable to your life. You will find that the messages are practical, easy to understand, and grounded in Scripture.

WHAT'S AVAILABLE FOR MY KIDS?

Calvary offers a safe and exciting children's program during the worship service for your children, birth to 5th  grade.

At Calvary, our children participate with the praise and worship, listen to the anouncements and special songs for the first part of the service, then they are dismissed to KidZone where they can receive the Word of God on their level thorugh powerful Bible lessons, activities and games to help them build a solid and strong spiritual foundation as they are engaged spiritually, mentally and sometimes physically.  Simply stated: we want this to be the best hour of your child's week!

Calvary KidZone is staffed solely by members in good standing at Calvary, who have been background checked and receive ongoing training to make your children's experience the best it can be!

During Calvary Kidz, your children will experience fun Bible lessons, activities and games to help them build a spiritual foundation.

HOW CAN I GET CONNECTED?

Join us for worship this Sunday at 11:00 a.m.  You will experience the love, presence and power of God of God in a wonderful way!

HOW DID CALVARY  GET STARTED?

Pastor Kenneth Sesley completed his early upbringing in the city of Carson, graduating from Carson High School.  Becuase of this he has always had a heart to reach the people of Carson with supernatural power of God.  At the Lord's direction he began Calvary Fellowship International Churh to reach out to the entire South Bay, as well as Compton, South Central Los Angeles and Long Beach areas. Dr. Sesley served as the Senior Pastor of Compton Christian Fellowship World Outreach Church for nearly two decades prior to feeling called to start Calvary Fellowship here in the great city of Carson.

On January 26, 2006 Calvary Fellowship International celebrated its Grand Opening at Ambler Elementary School. God has blessed our church thus far, and our church is growing steadily, serving the community and sharing Christ with the people of Carson and the South Bay along the way.

And we believe that the best days are still ahead!
